Welcome to Hugs & Bugs Club! New session! New book! New mess! This email is lengthy but very important. Please read carefully so you are prepared for class and forward to any person attending the class with your child.
BIRTHDAYS: We love celebrating your child’s birthday! Please consider us to host your child’s birthday party at one of our locations. You may view packages and pricing on our site. Also, if you would like to bring in a treat to share with the class on the special day, they must be given outside at the end of class with permission of all caregivers due to allergies.
BOOK: We always encourage purchasing the session’s book of choice for your child to have at home and is available for purchase the first week of classes. They will be handed out at the end of the first class. Reading the book at home welcomes your child to talk about the different activities in class. CANCELLATION/ REFUND POLICY: No refunds are given during the session and cannot be transferred to another student during the session. CELL PHONES: Please turn ringers off and only use cell phones for taking awesome pics of children in super fun activities. Please only post your child on any social media to respect the privacy of fellow classmates. Please turn cell phone ringers off. No texting or phones calls during class time so you can be fully present with your child, especially since we have many choking hazards in our activities.
CHOKING HAZARDS: We incorporate many small parts in our sensory bins and activities that are considered choking hazards. You and/or other caregiver attending with your child are responsible for your child and must watch carefully in case they try to put something in their mouth.
DIAPER CHANGING: We have a diaper changing station. Please do not change diapers within the play room or on the bench.
DRESS FOR MESS: We love mess and think it's one of the best ways for children to learn! Let's encourage them by dressing them in clothes to get messy! Bring an extra set of clothes to change into just in case.
ILLNESS: Let’s do our best to keep eachother healthy by keeping children home when sick. Please schedule a makeup if your child has had a fever and/or other symptoms within 24 hours of class. Also, please follow your doctor’s advice as to when your child should resume classes after a contagious illness.
LET'S START CLASSES TOGETHER ON TIME: Doors open a few minutes before class starts and begins on time. We have so many wonderful activities for your child and want them to enjoy the full 45 minutes with us. Please arrive on time and ready for fun!
LOCATIONS: Our Mommy & Me style classes are held at our original Hugs & Bugs Club location at 529 Willow Avenue Hoboken, NJ while our Tinker Play classes and Open Play are held at our newest location, Chrysalis Cove by Hugs & Bugs Club at 537 Park Avenue Hoboken, NJ
MAKEUP POLICY: Lastly, because our classes are so unique, we ask that you come to each and every class! Your child will love to see their friends each week and experience new activities and mess! We understand life happens, days get mixed up and sniffles occur. Our students are permitted to makeup TWO makeup classes for 12-16 week sessions and ONE make up class for 6-11 week sessions. Makeups are only given if the student has cancelled within 24 hours of class or at least by 6pm for morning classes and at least 4-hours prior for afternoon classes. Your notice of absence allows another student needing a makeup to attend the class in your place. No shows and cancellations that do not follow these guidelines will not be given a makeup class. Students permitted a makeup can reschedule for another class by emailing email@example.com. Make-ups will only be scheduled during the current session and cannot be rolled over to another session or used towards any other service. If class is cancelled due to inclement weather, all students will receive a make-up class.
OUTSIDE DRINKS & FOOD: No outside food is aloud in our space due to allergies. Please keep all food items in your parked strollers outside. We will always provide your child with a small fruit snack at the end of class which you may accept or not. No outside drinks other than water allowed in the space and must be kept securely in the cubbies provided and away from sensory materials.
PARKING: Street parking only.
PARTICIPATION: We are all role models for our children and they love to see us all participate in the activities, hear awesome new words, and get big hugs and positive reinforcement during class.
SAFE ENVIRONMENT: To maintain a safe environment, please do not allow your child to stand or jump on the sensory bins, ball pit and bench. No outside food or drinks.
SOCKS: Caregivers must wear socks. Please understand we try to keep our floors nice and clean for our children that roll around and crawl on the floor. If you forget, we have socks for sale (cash only). You will not be able to stay in class without socks and any missed class for this reason will not be accepted for a makeup.
STROLLER PARKING: There is stroller parking along the fence. You must bring your own lock.
