Does your child love to perform? Do they actively pursue school shows, community theatre and declare they want to be on Broadway. This is the class for them.
With the guidance of our owner and Broadway Pro, Jeffrey Schecter, students will be challenged to take their musical theatre talent to the next level. With a continued focus on the 3 major elements of musical theatre, Students will learn how to break down and interpret a song, understand what the song is about and begin to understand telling a story through song. They will also learn to break down scenes, develop original characters and may even participate in writing and creating their own monologues and/or scenes. They will also participate in theater games, improvisation and confidence building to deal with the nerves of being in the spotlight.
The semester ends with a fun performance for family and friends of the best moments from class.
**This is for students that really have a strong interest in Musical Theatre and really want to work with a true veteran performer. Students must have approval of the teacher to take this class.
**PLEASE NOTE: We typically have live accompaniment in most classes but since we are outdoors we will usually use pre-recorded tracks.
AND please keep in mind this is an outdoor class. In the event of rain or a particularly cold day (Usually under 45 degrees) we will go on zoom. IF we have to go on zoom more than 2 times (for a 3rd time or more) we will do our best to add make up classes to the end of the semester or offer credit towards future classes.
Please purchase a folder for your children to put their scenes and music in.
