Broadway Pro Jeffrey "Shecky" Schecter is a well loved and very successful Broadway performer and Television Actor. With 9 Broadway shows, including FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, A CHORUS LINE, THE PAJAMA GAME, ANYTHING GOES, GUYS AND DOLLS, NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, THE PEOPLE IN THE PICTURE AND WONDERFUL TOWN, Jeff has a vast vocabulary and knowledge of what it takes to stand out in an audition, perform on a Broadway stage and survive in an ever changing business. Not only does he bring out the best in his students, and introduce them to the importance of musicality, performance, intention, and commitment, but he also teaches the importance of being nice and helping others in a very competitive field.
In this class, Jeff will visit the FOUR most important elements of musical theatre. Singing, Dancing, Acting and Spontaneity. Each week students will physically warm up, learn a Broadway inspired combination, and then focus on one of the elements. Each week will be a different focus. Singing, Acting, and Improvisation to support spontaneity. Sessions are in 4 week intervals. The session will also include important discussions about the business and steps to take to be prepared for an ever changing climate.
This Class is open to all levels, but some experience and strength in dancing, singing or acting is strongly recommended. Know what you're good at and know what you need to work on and you'll be on your way.
