Description
Español con Señorita Longman y Señorita Shuman will be an after school exploration of the Spanish language and culture including songs, educational activities and games, art and food. Tentative activities include reading books in Spanish, making food from Spanish speaking countries, such as pan con tomate and guacamole, exploring Art and Dance, including learning some Salsa basics, and continued oral language opportunities. This class has 10 sessions on Tuesdays from January 8 to March 19 (excluding February 19, which falls over the week of February Break).
This class will be from dismissal until 5:00pm. Students will have a chance to eat a nut free snack (parents must provide) and gather in KC until 4:00pm, at which time the class will start. Families should pick up their students from the lobby downstairs at 5:00pm prompt. We will bring the students down at that time.
If you are a family who wants or needs child care until 6:00pm, we are offering the option to sign your child up to stay until 6:00pm. This second hour is optional, but you must sign up to do this for all the sessions if you sign up for this. From 5:00-6:00pm, we will read a story and then have choice time including open art, dramatic play, blocks, manipulatives, library, puzzles and games.
This class is open to everyone, whether or not your child previously attended the Fall Semester of Spanish. We will be covering new material and activities, so your child will neither be behind nor repeating the same activities.
Notes:
Pack an extra snack for your child to eat after school before class starts!
