Friday Open Studio Guidelines

A Creative Space for Active Students

Welcome to Friday Open Studio at Inspired Minds Art Center! This is a wonderful opportunity for artists to share creative space, focus on art away from the distractions of home, and catch up on projects if you’ve missed a class.

Below are the guidelines to ensure a positive experience for everyone:

Key Details:

Open to all actively enrolled students.

When: Fridays, 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM (Strict end time—please be prepared to leave on time.)

Where: South Studio Classroom

Supplies: No IMAC supplies are included unless prearranged with your instructor. Bring your own materials.

Unsupervised Time: There will not be an instructor present to assist with projects.

Age Restriction: Open to ages 16+ only. This time is not for children, even if accompanied by an adult.

Sign-Up Required: You must complete the initial registration in order to participate. Registering for individual days is encouraged so attendees can be notified of any changes to the IMAC schedule.

Studio Guidelines & Expectations:
*Bring Your Own Supplies – Artists must provide their own materials and tools. The studio does not supply communal art materials.
*Clean Up After Yourself – Wipe down tables, sweep floors, and leave the space tidy for the next artist.
Use the Appropriate Sinks – Dispose of waste properly and wash materials only in designated sinks to avoid plumbing issues.
*Respect the Space & Others – Keep noise at a reasonable level, be mindful of shared areas, and treat fellow artists with courtesy.
*No Hazardous Materials – Avoid using toxic or strong-smelling substances that may affect others. If necessary, check with staff about proper ventilation and disposal.
*Respect Studio Equipment & Furniture – Do not alter, damage, or leave permanent marks on tables, chairs, or other shared resources.
*Storage is Limited – Do not leave materials or artwork in the space unless prior arrangements have been made.
*Dispose of Waste Properly – Follow recycling and disposal guidelines for paints, solvents, and other materials.
*No Unauthorized Guests – Only registered artists are allowed to use the space. If you wish to bring a guest, check with the studio first.
*Be Considerate with Shared Resources – If studio tools or equipment are available for use, return them in the same condition you found them.
*Strict End Time: All artists must clean up and leave promptly at 5:30 PM.
Rule Enforcement: Failure to follow the guidelines or disrespecting the space and fellow artists may result in loss of open studio privileges.
