Class Experience

Curious about learning how to use the potter's wheel? This throwing workshop is designed for absolute beginners and first-timers willing to explore each step of the process. Participants should not expect to necessarily “make” anything in this 1.5 hour workshop.


This workshop is mixed-ages to allow for intergenerational siblings to learn together and for a family-style mode of experiential learning.

Class Requirements

  • Please arrive on time.

What you'll learn

  • Participants will learn the appropriate body and hand positioning that’s required for each step of throwing on the wheel.
  • Learn and practice moving through each step of the process on the wheel.
  • Participants will get to know the physical and working components of a potter's wheel.
  • Participants will practice the concept of impermanence.
