Description
KidsMakeItRight's Planet Protector Project is an After School Enrichment Program focused on social responsibility. Children work together to envision and execute trash and recycling awareness projects while learning to show compassion for the people and animals effected. They also learn and apply STEM skills, the lean startup methodology, & critical thinking to improve their projects and measure the impact. As they do, they realize that changing the world is within their reach!
Notes:
Understand the environmental crisis created by plastics and work as a team to change it
Learn STEM subjects and apply the scientific method
Iteratively design messaging -apply lean startup methodology
Present and share their work digitally (blog/social media)
Curriculum by our on-staff Learning Science Ph.D.
6 sessions - 1 hour each, once a week
Skills developed: The 6C's (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, Content, Confidence)... and Compassion!
