KidsMakeItRight - Summer Workshop (Elem Ages)

1st - 6th grade

Description

KidsMakeItRight's Planet Protector Project is a half-day (9am-noon) program focused on the environment and social responsibility. The project-based curriculum was developed by our on-staff learning scientist, an affiliated Professor of Education at the University of Delaware. Children work together to envision and execute trash and recycling projects while learning to show compassion for the people and animals affected. They also learn and apply STEM skills & their own critical thinking to improve their projects and maximize their impact. As they do, they realize that changing the world is within their reach!

Notes:

Children understand the environmental crisis created by our trash and work as a team to change it
Planet Protectors learn the science behind our trash and apply the scientific method to reducing our impact on the world
During workshops we iteratively design messages and try to think about and improve what we tell others
KidsMakeItRight Planet Protectors develop compassion and STEM skills (the 6C's - Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, Content, Confidence)
