Creative Clay Workshop With Ms.Sarah!
Come make a lumpy ball of clay into something fun! In our first class, we'll work with the wet clay to form your base idea then attach decorative pieces. You'll learn about how to attach one piece of clay to another with a permanent bond! The clay then has to dry before it can be fired in the kiln. When you come back for your second day, your amazing masterpiece will be ready to glaze! Find out what makes glaze so bright and shiny (it's not paint!), and glaze your piece however you choose (Realistic turtle? Rainbow owl? Great!).
Glazed projects are then fired in the kiln again,

Sarah McMahon has a Bachelor's in Art Education and a Master's in ESL. She has been teaching visual arts to Jeffco students of all ages for a startling number of years, and creating her own artwork since she could hold a pencil. She discovered ceramics in the fourth grade and has had clay under her fingernails ever since.
