Description
Come and explore the rich and vibrant world of oils! This 3 week workshop will teach you everything you need to start painting with oils; from color theory, value studies and color mixing to brush techniques and stages of a painting. Oil paints have been most artists' first choice for hundreds of years, with good reason. This can be your first step of becoming the artist we all have inside!
Each class is a 2 hours session. Additional materials are required.
Notes:
Little Red Hen will provide: board canvases, easels, glass jars, paper towels, and aprons. It is required to bring the following materials to class: All these materials can be found at Michaels, Hobby Lobby or Meininger. - Set of 5 'all mediums' brushes. - Mop brush 1/2 inch (find it in the acrylics brushes section) - Artist Palette Seal 16" x 12" x 1.75"(it looks like a big plastic box with a blue or red lid) - Gamsol odorless mineral spirit (16.9 fl oz bottle) - Oil Paint (level 1) 1 tube per color: medium yellow, brilliant red or cadmium red, ultramarine blue, burnt sienna, burnt umber, ivory black, sap green, and yellow ochre. - One tube of permalba white oil paint. - Palette knife 102. - Optional: a little bottle of lindsey oil.
