One of our most popular options, this project is an introduction to the world of visual journaling. Participants will be led through several relaxation techniques, followed by a demonstration of how to use and create a visual journal. Students are given a sketchbook journal to jumpstart the visual journaling process and time in the studio to openly create using a variety of materials including collage, paint, oil pastels and other mixed media items. The "final product" of a visual journal is a collection of pages filled with drawings, sketches, hand lettering, doodles, or even clippings of photographs and magazine cutouts, serving as a visual diary or sketchbook for personal reflection and creative exploration. Additional fees of $8 per person apply for the sketchbook purchase or participants can purchase their own and bring them along.
