Class Experience

PREREQUISITE: A1.3 or equivalent Online Placement Exam (recommended score of 20 pts or greater on the Stufe 2/A1.2 exam)


Participants of A2.1 will work towards being able to describe past events, describe the orientation and direction of movement of object; talk about moving and furnishing a living space; describe vacations, vacation activities, and nature; talk about shopping and eating habits; and talk about tourism and large events.This course covers chapters 1 - 9 of the Menschen A2 course book..


The 3 classes at the A2 level are for those looking to continue improving the German ability towards achieving A2 proficiency in. These courses are conducted almost exclusively in German, and covers the Menschen A2 coursebook. The content covered in the class is supplemented by a work book, which students complete independently outside of class. Note that the language of the textbooks is German.


Participants work in class to further develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Those who fully participate in and complete A2.1, A2.2, and A2.3 will ideally be prepared for the A2 Goethe Exam, recognized globally as proof of German language ability. Loved:

The proctors were patient and clear in their instructions. They executed the several parts of the exam on time, efficiently. I'm glad I took the test, and I look forward to eventually taking the B1 exam.

Improvements:

The listening part of the exam was much more difficult than the other parts. The conversations were spoken quite quickly, faster than I normally hear on news broadcasts such as Deutsche Welle and Tagesschau. I need to improve my listening skills, but it seemed like maybe the listening portion was maybe a bit out of scale difficulty-wise with the other parts.
