Class Experience

Welcome to the world of paper dolls, a childhood favorite of mine and beloved playtime for tons of kids today. In this after school program, students will fold, pinch, cut and glue paper and other materials to create beautiful clothing and accessories for their paper dolls. Students pick from one of four paper dolls: Kiara, Rudo, Jasmine and Reagan to start. We will then send them a DIY kit that includes the paper doll along with different types of paper, ribbon and other fun craft supplies that will help students to create fantastical paper doll fashions.

For spring 2021, we will be running the classes a little differently than usual. Paper Doll Crafts full season is 6 classes. We offer rolling admissions, which will allow students to start the class at any point from the week of January 10 to the week of May 10. By this we mean, once a student registers for the season, it will take about a week for their class kit to arrive. Once the kit arrives, the student can then join the rest of the class and start working on the project of the week. And then they will have the next five consecutive weeks to finish the program. We also offer make up classes on the weekends to help students who’ve missed class or need a little extra help to get caught up. We also offer custom scheduling, which means we can schedule classes per the student and instructor's calendar availability. Please let us know you require custom scheduling once your child has enrolled in the program.

The class runs for 1 hour, once a week. PLEASE NOTE: the time is EST. I am located in NJ.

Please allow 3 to 10 days for the class kit to arrive. For more info and to see photo examples of upcoming projects, please visit: https://workshopsessayer.com/spring-2021/ to pick your child's paper doll as well as see examples of the projects we will be working on.

Loved:

Eddie was so warm and patient, and even though we were on opposite sides of the country, she connected with my daughter right away! The project was the perfect amount of time and challenged her dexterity and use of art supplies in a very constructive way. Plus the lantern turned out SO CUTE. Thanks for a great workshop!

Improvements:

Nothing, from start to finish the experience was very smooth

About Workshops Essayer

Workshops Essayer has been providing enrichment programs for private schools in New York City, Brooklyn and Hoboken, NJ for almost a decade. WE specializes in creative programs, specifically: culinary arts, design and bath & body product development. Some of our most loved classes include sewing basics, bath bomb making and of course any foods cooked with chocolate. Creative fun with just a hint of whimsy, a dash of impish charm and a sprinkle of imagination is what we strive for.
