Class Experience

Ready for your child or teen to learn one of the most widely used programming languages in the world? Python is easy to learn and is used by many companies. Large organizations that use Python include Wikipedia, Google, NASA, Facebook, Amazon, and Spotify. Students will learn while having fun while completing projects that cover the core coding skills.

1) Class sessions alternate. The first class is a lesson. The class that follows is a lab where children apply the skills learned in the prior class.
During the 1 Hr class session, instruction is provided and students are given short periods to apply their learning
During the lab time, instructors work with students is smaller groups and 1:1, Instructors may provide instruction specific to projects the kids are working on. Children are encouraged to ask questions and get personal attention outside of regular classes.
2) Students are encouraged to work between the classes on their own or in the lab.
3) This class is co-ed. In alignment with our nonprofit mission to inspire more girls to pursue STEM, all-girl classes are also available.
4) If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, we encourage you to complete our short form to apply:
You must Install Python and Thonny on your personal computer before class or use a Boolean Box.
Install Python and Thonny on your Windows or Mac (Apple) computer following the instructions here:

I loved that everyone was very friendly. The instructors never pressured you to be perfect, they just helped you in an extremely nice way.

Nothing, really. Except for the fact that we weren’t allowed to go to Starbucks.

My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed Probably in camp this week. She love the projects and took pride in building a solution with her partner. She also love that they mixed it up and made them take activity breaks, off and eating outside. What an incredible camp! The location and the facilities were great too.

Pick up is a little messy. Some parents can’t patiently wait in line to pick up their kids, Which makes for a little bit of chaos. Thankfully it’s only a few minutes till they clear out

Response from Boolean Girl

Thanks for the feedback and kind review. We have really enjoyed this camp and have been amazed at the gadgets the girls have built. The camp room is a mess with junk everywhere. As Edison said "To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk." We have had both. Comments about pick up are fair, you would think a bunch of engineers could do better. We will try to improve each day!

My child said that she felt challenged & engaged. She had a great time coding & improving on her work. This is her third Boolean camp & she is always looking forward to attending! Given that many of the students are not eligible to be vaccinated, I also felt that COVID precautions were well done.

The policy is stated up front that everyone must wear a mask. One student did not comply & arrived without a mask each day & remained without one. I feel that it’s unfair to the other students. My child felt unsafe when this student was close by.

Response from Boolean Girl

Hello! Thanks for the kind review. It really has been a great week. The girls have been very creative and built gadgets we never could have imagined. Always amazed when they want to keep building and creating and not take a break. Our apologies on the mask slip up. You are 100% correct. I think we have been having so much fun we missed the mask compliance issue.
