Avoid the Summer Slide! We are offering small group workshop sessions to ensure that the SHSAT skills and strategies stay at the forefront of students’ minds during the summer months. The Summer Intensive 5-day Workshop is built upon the foundations of the Winter & Spring courses, but is certainly appropriate for newcomers as well. Because of the small group size, we can individualize the instruction and bring new students up to speed as needed. We will cap the group at 10 students to provide a small setting where students can receive individualized attention from the instructor.
During each session, the instructor will work with students to master content, refresh their test-taking skill strategies, and practice every question type. Students will take a mini-diagnostic prior to beginning the sessions in order to maximize instructional time. The instructor will quickly identify and address any instructional gaps and use assessment data to prioritize teaching efforts quickly. The instructor is a gifted, seasoned teacher who will be able to differentiate the instruction to provide personalized attention for each student.
At the conclusion of the week, we offer a practice test and will return a detailed score report so that families may use the results to determine next steps in their student’s prep process.
Course fee includes access to course materials and 1 practice exam + detailed score report. Your student will be provided with a test prep book on the first day of class.

My son said his Instructor,Mr.David Rice is very nice and his explanation is very clear.
My son wants a little more challenging math. (If he could solve the math problem quickly....he gets distracted while he is waiting for other kid’s answer)

The ELA teacher did a decent job at making the zoom calls interactive - by having students enter possible answers into the chat.
Lecturing is never the way to go. If you are going to continue to hold this class via Zoom, you MUST engage the students. My daughter was bored and not motivated to learn - especially from the Math teacher, who did very little to interact.

The teachers were very through in their teaching. We mainly had problems of logging on. Also the homework assignments were not posted promptly or Ronin 80% couldn’t log on to retrieve it. There’s either issue of him not being listed or teacher posted on Thursday (two days before their lesson on Saturday morning.)
I know the lesson starts at 10am but a lot of time Ronin has to wait up to 5 minutes in the waiting room before he could join. I suggest that the teacher starts inviting kids earlier so it doesn’t eat into the lesson time. Because no matter what the teacher log off right at 11 promptly but it doesn’t always start promptly.
