LEGO® Engineering program includes a diverse curriculum that involves STEAM learning principles. It has both beginner and intermediate level lessons. One of the main goals of this program is to teach kids how to think like scientists as they build LEGO® models. At the class, we challenge kids with strategic questions to guide them through the process of applying science, technology, engineering, art, and math skills and test their ideas to answer different questions. Furthermore, the building activities will reinforce the children’s creativity as we use LEGO® models in storytelling and acting.
What is the structure of LEGO® Engineering Classes?
Each lesson is structured according to a natural learning flow called the LEGO® Education 4C Approach, which promotes successful learning experiences and included 4 phases:
1. Connect (When we share stories / discussions to spark curiosity and preparing for new learning)
2. Construct (The children will participate in a hands-on building activity creating models of people, places, objects, and ideas)
3. Contemplate (The most important phase, when we reflect on what we’ve built, talk about it, and share insights they have gained)
4. Continue (We expand newly-acquired knowledge in our new related builds)
What is LEGO® Education and how LEGO® Engineering classes benefit your kids?
We use LEGO® Education products and curriculum which have been developed specifically for learning and classroom use. LEGO® Education for more than 40 years has been working with teachers and educational specialists to deliver playful learning experiences that bring subjects to life in the classroom and make learning fun and impactful. LEGO® Education provides a very different approach compared to building with ordinary LEGO® sets at home. There are massive benefits for children when it comes to learning and actively participating in LEGO® Engineering program. Some of these benefits include:
1. Hands-on multidisciplinary learning.
2. Critical thinking, logic, and reasoning.
3. Understanding and application of STEAM concepts: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.
4. Promotes creativity and outside-of-the-box thinking
5. Promotes Literacy.
6. Teamwork and soft skills
Please have your child wear socks.
The Class size is small. Each child will have individual work supplies. Kids must wear masks. The Teacher(s) will be wearing a mask. The temperature and symptoms check will be administered before entering the studio. Parents are not allowed inside the facility, drop-off only. Parents have to take turns to drop-off/pick-up their kids and not to come upstairs if another student or parent at the door. If a student had a contact with a person with a confirmed COVID-19 case the student has to be quarantined for 14 days prior to returning to the studio. If a child within the pod got sick with COVID-19 all parents will be informed and the class will be moved online for 14 days.
While participating in classes or events held by The Renaissance Child, (“TRC”) “social distancing” must be practiced and face coverings worn at all times by participants 5 years and older to reduce the risks of exposure to COVID-19. Because COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is spread mainly from person-to-person contact, TRC has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. However, TRC cannot guarantee that its students, caregivers, participants, or others in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19. By checking the box below i understand that i assume all risks and TRC is not responsible for any COVID-19 diagnoses.

My son loves the robotics class and is so sad when it ends. We will definitely be signing up again!
He has only been to 2 classes, so I’m not sure yet what could be improved.
