Class Experience

The Dynamite Baking Club is our online dessert class for kids ages 7-15 that delivers essential baking lessons and techniques, culminating in a delicious treat for the whole family.
Since we pivoted online from our celebrated in person classes in March 2020, we have taught thousands of hours of culinary instruction for kids across the country and the rave reviews from parents and press have been pouring in. said our online classes are “Simply The Best Thing Going For Kids Right Now.”
These interactive classes are full of joy and connection. The Zoom format not only allows us to interact up close with each student as they make their way through the recipes, but we also get impromptu moments of connection—the stuff we all crave so much now.
For each session, you will receive a robust lesson packet with guides on ingredients, substitutions, tips and tricks, the weeks’ shopping list, and of course the recipes.
- Ages 7 - 15
- Siblings can cook together on the same device for the price of one.
- Each class is $30 if you commit to the semester (payment plan available) or $40 for drop-ins.
- Sign up at any time during the semester for a one-off drop-in class or join the semester already in progress for a discounted and prorated fee.
- Recipes (see below) adaptable for gluten-free diets.
- Semester students receive a 25% discount on our weekend workshops.
If signing up from outside the U.S. you will need a workaround to get through the registration process. Select any U.S. state from the drop-down menu, but then put your actual postal code in the “zip code” section. About The Dynamite Shop (kids cooking classes)

We started as a culinary social club for children and their families in a Park Slope, Brooklyn storefront with a teaching kitchen, cook's library, photo and video studio, backyard garden and a cafe up front. That was in 2017. In 2020 everything changed and we pivoted online.

Our goal is to help the rising generation of cooks find their niche in food, to celebrate the diversity of our communities and the wider world, and to develop positive relationships around food. Consider us Home Ec 2.0: we champion an old fashioned reverence of the table and offer a cool, supportive place to unplug, but we also embrace technology in the ways it can foster creativity and connection.

The Dynamite Shop empowers kids to express themselves through the lens of food, so we’re not just cooking lasagna and bibimbap to bring home for dinner--we’re learning about regional variations, live-streaming with chefs, watching and creating videos, and exploring how food intersects with culture and community.

Our core curricula is the Dynamite Dinner Club where kids gather in our Zoom kitchen to cook dinner for their families and learn real life cooking skills in the process. Beyond Dinner Club, we're a community that revolves around food: We offer cooking classes for the whole family, weekend workshops, food service projects, private parties and group cooking activities for all ages. Now that we’re online, we are available to the whole planet.
