We've got virtual Dungeons & Dragons in the morning!

Dungeons & Dragons is a fantasy role-playing game set in an imaginary world based loosely on medieval myth. Players develop characters and go on quests -- game play is driven by narrative storytelling.

In addition to this highly-cerebral play, we encourage kids to get active by giving in-game rewards, like powers and spells, as they participate in activity breaks.

DETAILS
This program is appropriate for all kids, from those brand-new to Dungeons & Dragons to those more seasoned. We divide kids into secure Zoom Rooms by age and experience, with no more than seven kids per room. Rooms are always under adult supervision by our highly experienced, beloved Game Masters.

Beginners are supported by staff while they create their character and learn how to play. You indicate your child's level of experience when you register, so we know who needs more support.

We e-mail Zoom invites to the address used to register for the program the night before the session.

This game is ideal for social connection during this shut down! Players work together to coordinate their complementary skill sets to problem-solve and overcome diverse challenges. Their co-dependence translates into a sense of belonging and genuine social cohesion.

Notes

Please keep an eye on your in-box for your Zoom link the night prior to your session. It is sent to the e-mail address used to register your child. Don't forget to look in your Promotions tab or Spam folder, if you don't receive it.

Camp did their best everyday to provide kids with an outdoor experience. My kid only had good things to say about the day camp (which is rare).

About Brooklyn Game Lab - Park Slope

We don’t just teach kids how to play games; we teach them how to analyze, discuss, and experiment with their own variants in small groups. Our kids are encouraged to think out of the (game) box.Kids who engage in our specialized approach to gaming develop critical-thinking skills like risk and resource management, the art of negotiation and deduction, and long-term planning. The Lab also stresses the importance of fair play, diplomacy, collaboration, and a positive attitude however the game turns out. Located in Park Slope and DUMBO, Brooklyn Game Lab has classes and camps for kids!
