The best modern board games, played and modified, devleloping kids' creativity and logistical skills!
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Kids play and develop modern board games while building critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. After playing, we discuss different strategies and propose changes to the game. This leads to play-testing a new variation of the game! We might also play test and preview games in production.
Kids earn merits for positive contributions to game play.
We'll also introduce and play Dungeons & Dragons several times during the semester.
This after school program meets once a week from 3:30 – 6:00 pm.
We offer school pick up at select schools at school dismissal. Register for school pick up with your after school program registration.
Our after school programs are not held on days when public school is closed, including for inclement weather. These closures are factored into the after school fee.
COST: Pay in full, or choose equal installments, the cost is the same. The first installment is charged upon registration; subsequent installments are charged on the 1st of the upcoming months. The last charge is January 1st. If you register after the start of the semester, your fee is pro-rated.
Want more than one session per week, or have two children who want to play? A discount of 5% is applied to each session purchased. You can even mix and match after school program types (online, outdoor, or indoors) -- and receive the 5% discount on all programs.
Enrollment is for the full semester, unless special arrangements are made. Our Fall semester ends January 28, 2022. My son loves Brooklyn Game Lab! He loves being with people who love Magic and other games as much as he does! The instructors are very supportive and quietly work behind the scenes to build self-esteem, resolve the little kiddie conflicts that come up and generate overall positivity.

About Brooklyn Game Lab - Park Slope
We don’t just teach kids how to play games; we teach them how to analyze, discuss, and experiment with their own variants in small groups. Our kids are encouraged to think out of the (game) box.Kids who engage in our specialized approach to gaming develop critical-thinking skills like risk and resource management, the art of negotiation and deduction, and long-term planning. The Lab also stresses the importance of fair play, diplomacy, collaboration, and a positive attitude however the game turns out. Located in Park Slope and DUMBO, Brooklyn Game Lab has classes and camps for kids!
