Class Experience

This class is designed for teens ages 11 - 16 who wish to learn and or refine their skills in Drawing and Painting and progress to a higher level. Students will learn the foundations of composition, design and drawing, proper use of tools and art mediums and ways of creating deeper meaning in their work. The class focuses on drawing principles such as learning to recognize line and circle shapes, measuring for proportion, line texture and line quality and color concepts. The class explores various art mediums including drawing pencils, brush markers, watercolor pencils, and other art mediums that create an exciting art project. Children learn by following the teacher in demonstrations and guided drawing and painting instruction.
*For the Fall session, we are offering 13 classes from early September to late December.

The class instructor will send out the 'art lesson' attachment the day before class. Please be sure to check your email and look for Young Masters Art Center as the sender. Please print the art lesson attachment in color. Students should attend class on a hard surface such as a table or desk with good room lighting. It's not advisable to take the class on the bed or floor. It's also best for students to attend class in a quiet house location that is not around the rest of the family with brothers and sisters.
