Class Experience

If your child loves to draw fantasy creatures and wants to learn more, this is the class! Children learn drawing and painting at the foundational level while experiencing the joy of drawing what they love.  Perhaps its unicorns or dragons or other fantasy creatures.  This class includes 2 dimensional line, color theory, composition, line quality, 3 dimensional shading and techniques for creating exciting artworks.

The class explores various art mediums including graphite drawing pencils, color brush markers, watercolor pencils, and other art mediums that help the student to learn and produce an accurate and exciting artwork. Children learn by following the teacher in guided drawing and painting instruction.

This class session is open to new and existing students. *For the Fall session, we are offering 13 classes from early September to late December. In person classes are available at our Annapolis studio location.

Online classes are held via Zoom video conferencing. The Zoom link and Password are emailed automatically around 30 minutes before the start of class. The class instructor will send out the 'art lesson' attachment the day before class. Please be sure to check your email and look for Young Masters Art Center as the sender. Please print the art lesson attachment in color. Students should attend class on a hard surface such as a table or desk with good room lighting. It's not advisable to take the class on the bed or floor. It's also best for students to attend class in a quiet house location that is not around the rest of the family with brothers and sisters. This will minimize interruptions for the student as well as the class and ensure good focus and attention.

Young Masters Art Center was founded in 2016 from a vision that children can become young artists and flourish in fine arts when given the right environment and instruction. We wanted to share the gift of art by providing an exceptional teaching experience for the next generation of young artists.

YMAC creates a classroom environment where children can receive instruction in fine arts drawing and painting through individualized attention and exceptional instruction. We share a vision and joy for art as well as a love for children.

Our instructors are professional artists recognized throughout the industry with years of fine arts teaching experience for children and adults. We teach a realistic art curriculum with the structure necessary for achieving highly skilled drawing and painting success while also allowing the freedom for individual creativity. The YMAC business model is small classes with lots of individualized attention for the children. We offer interactive online classes as well as in person classes. In 2020, our in person classes have been suspended due to the COVID threat. We hope to offer them again at some point in 2021.
