Class Experience

Engaging, active art class for K4,  K5 and 1st grade kiddos (ages: 4-6). Each week we begin and finish a new project. The FALL Session introduces your artist to some of the world's favorite artists.   This class will focus heavily on sculpture as well as drawing, painting, and collaging. Adults are expected to remain nearby in case students need an extra hand. Class is designed for students to be successful as independent artists, but occasionally the little artists will hit a roadblock and need a quick minute of help.   Most supplies are included in the cost of the class (you will provide, scissors, liquid glue, crayons and a pencil)

September 7/8 - Catch That Wave Painting (Hokusai)

September 14/15 - Last Summer Flowers Paper Sculpture (VanGogh)

September 21/22 - Self-Portrait Sculpture in Relief  (Ekow Nimako)

 September 28/29 - Cat/Dog Sculpture (Klee)

October 5/6 - Desert Landscape Painting (O'Keefe)

October 12/13 - Paper Mâché Masks (Sherman)

October 19/20 - Trees Sculptures (Kandinsky)

October 26/27 - Spooky Moon Painting (Douglas)

November 2/3 - Paint Brush Portraits Sculpture (Modigliani) November 9/10 - Animal Head Sculpture (Kurtz)

November 16/17 - Fabric Bowls (Yayoi)

Class is recorded each week and a link will be sent out after class is over.

Loved:

Lauren is so interactive with the kids, and does an excellent job filling each child's attention bucket! Eli and Aowyn loved sculpting with tinfoil, and painting at the end was the icing on the cake! We absolutely love Ms. Lauren!

Loved:

I liked how the instructor was able to talk to each child and keep them engaged. I liked the activity - it was simple and required things I already had at home.

Improvements:

The pace of the activity. The attention span of a 2 year old is short.

Loved:

Lauren talked to each kid about his/her art work and praised them for what was done well. She explained the process in ways that the kids could easily follow even though she wasn't there to give hands-on help.
