Class Experience

This 45-minute class is a great opportunity for parents to guide their toddlers through the exploration of materials perfectly suited to their innate interests. They'll be drawing with special crayons that glide on the page, using stamps big enough for feet and hands, watercolors that vividly demonstrate color-mixing, glue that's easy to spread, fabric that's soft and bright in color, scissors that are easier to hold, and the list goes on and on. We make it a priority to seek out the best art materials for our youngest artists! Every material and project is carefully selected to complement the unique characteristics that define "toddlerhood". This class is great for developing SOCIALIZATION, FINE & GROSS MOTOR SKILL DEVELOPMENT, UNDERSTANDING OF CAUSE & EFFECT, LANGUAGE ACQUISITION and AN EMERGING AWARENESS OF THEMSELVES AS ARTISTS!

Notes

COVID Safety Precautions:
- All adults/caregivers must be vaccinated and show proof of vaccination (Excelsior Pass or vaccine card)
- Masks are required for everyone.
- All shared materials will be sanitized between classes.
- Safety check-in and questionnaire before each class

Caregiver or parent stays (and participates!) in class. Come dressed for a (creative) mess. While we do have smocks, toddlers like to fully engage with the materials and we encourage this type of exploration!

On day 1 my son came home saying “Awesome. Amazing. I loved it.” He was happy to go each morning and in a great mood at the end of the day. What more can a parent ask for?

Sioux M.

Sioux is a classically trained actress with a BA in Theatre Arts from Virginia Tech. She has performed and taught theatre in New York City and regional theatres throughout the country. Sioux came to Scribble via two paths: a lifelong love of art and art-making, and her kids! She is one of the original "Scribble parents" and is thrilled to be able to share the Scribble process and philosophy with so many other children.

About Scribble Art Workshop

We are a developmentally-based art program for children as young as eighteen months to adults. At our studios, everyone is an artist. We seek to build creativity as a life skill that will serve our students beyond the art studio. Our job is to bring the materials and methods that help students tap back into a primal maker self, a joyful artist who believes she or he knows how to make a thing of beauty.
