Class Experience

Join Boolean Girl for a special free Hour of Code event. During this event, participants will learn to write a Scratch program with a loop. Girl Scouts who also attend one of our free Ambassador sessions will earn their Coding Basics Badge. All kids are welcome, membership in the Girl Scouts is not required. You can join with any computer that has a browser and internet access. If you have a Boolean Box, click the Scratch the Cat icon. On other computers, go to https://scratch.mit.edu/

Notes

Parents, please be sure your child either has an online Scratch account or Scratch downloaded on your computer. Also, you may be needed at the beginning of the class to troubleshoot any technical problems your child may have. You will receive an email with the Zoom link a half hour before the event starts. Be sure to check all your inboxes!

How To Participate

Attend class via Zoom video

This class will be hosted on Zoom video conferencing platform. You will receive an email 30 minutes before class starts with a link to the class and access instructions. We recommend you make sure your device is up to date and meets all system requirements before class.

About Boolean Girl

Boolean Girl, a non profit corporation founded in 2014, is educating girls to code, build, invent, and animate.

We provide all-girl and co-ed classes, all-girl camps, special events, and partnerships - preparing girls (and boys) everywhere to explore computer programming and engineering.

The mission of Boolean Girl is to address the declining numbers of girls and women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields by engaging girls in grades three through eight with meaningful, hands-on instruction and sustained exposure to computer science and engineering in a collaborative and welcoming environment.
