Class Experience

Not only will students learn navigating through programs on their computer and computer tools, students will learn how to use BLOCKLY code, a precursor and elementary way of learning JavaScript programming. Some of the activities we use include MINECRAFT, BARBIE, ANGRY BIRDS, STAR WARS, just to name a few! Using blocks like puzzle pieces they connect pieces that have commands on them. The commands then carry out a path or action that a fun character takes to complete a mission. K-1st will use directional arrows to choose a path for their characters and after they excel in this activity, they will use blocks to connect and carry out a string of command. Learning how to code has been praised by elementary educators and has proven that students develop better sequencing and analytical skills. Oh YEAH, half-way through students stretch and participate in our special VIRTUAL DANCE PARTY". This class is also offered as a personal tutoring service scheduled by appointment.

Thomas, I am sorry for the misunderstanding. I look forward to teaching Katy in a makeup class proposed in my email. It is noted on the class description, that if you plan on a class the same day, your order must be in by 12:00 p.m.. Since your registration came in after the cut-off time, this happens. It's a strict policy if a class doesn't fill by 12:00, due to planning private lessons. Ms. P.

Loved:

The instructor is AMAZING! She has my, six year old, son completely engaged and excited about the class the entire time. I was hesitant to do an online program because my son has lost interest, usually about 5 minutes into a lesson, when we did other programs. With this program, he can’t get enough!

Improvements:

More classes. We want to do more classes :).

About Computer Kids Club, LLC

CKC is a computer science & academic program designed for Pre-K through 6th grade students. Your instructor, Ms. P., has a Computer Science degree with over 20 years of experience teaching students in the field of technology and operates a licensed computer training school. We offer a 1 hour specific computer science or academic class, 1.5 hour after-school enrichment and summer camps and school break camps which are usually 2-3 hours.

In all of our sessions students are taught an overall education in computer terminology and programs they will utilize during their elementary years and beyond. This is an important program your child will need to succeed in virtual learning and benefit from for years to come. Students participate in typing activities, coding, math, engineering and computer arts learning all of the computer program navigation skills they need. Programs offer a fun theme like Minecraft, StarWars, Rubiks Cube, Barbie, American Girl and so much more. Most classes students will design their own project to cherish using the Google programs.

Overall, our goal is to prepare children on the functions of how to use a computer for their school years ahead and to prepare our future leaders for the countless number of jobs requiring a computer education. Learning computer science skills at the elementary level will help your child further discover skills and eventually use them in middle, high school, college and beyond in a career, which, no doubt, will include computer use in one way or the other. Computer careers include, programming, graphic design, animation, engineering, operating medical equipment and so much more.

NOTE: You can sign up by 12:00 p.m. on the same day of the session to participate. Also, our Zoom Room runs on EASTERN TIME, so if you are on the West Coast or Midwest you will sign onto the session 1, 2, or 3 hours BEFORE the session time that is posted. I look forward to teaching your child computer skills to use for a lifetime!
