Students will design their own video-games using software developed by MIT called Scratch. They will learn to be programmers by using logic to develop and piece together code. As they build video games such as our “Adventure”, “Maze”, and “Platform” games, students will progressively advance their coding skills. The Scratch coding language is transferable to learning more advanced programming languages, such as C++, Java, or Python. Scratch was developed by Dr. Mitchel Resnick and associates at MIT. Dr. Resnick is one of Robofun’s Advisory Board members and trusted advisors.
A computer is required to download and use Scratch.

It started on time. Activity was okay, just more beginner than anticipated.
1:1 lesson with monotone, unsmiling, autopilot instructor was unbearable Need people who have fun teaching 6/7s Fun-free and impassive, we quit after 45 minutes, I made up an excuse and said my nephew wasn’t feeling well All black background for a 10:30 with a 7y/o comes off intimidating Have parents pre-register for Scratch rather than during class Terms like X and Y coordinates are foreign to 6/7s Breaks every 20mins are ideal for this age group.

Angelica says it was fun and the instructor did a great job helping her do coding better and always talked about what she did right and how to do things better.

Jordan is a great instructor. He is knowledgeable and patient, and is guiding my son through Minecraft Creative mode while teaching him about electricity and circuitry. My son loves the class so much that we are taking it again in two weeks!

Charlie loved building something new each day. The teacher was patient and knowledgeable and each day he left saying "Today we had fun!" The staff was awesome and kind, also very good about covid protocols.
Nothing to improve on the kids' experience end. He loves it so much.

RoboFun offers dynamic workshops for children using cutting edge technologies. Children ages 3 – 12 (Pre-K to 6th grade) come to our studio on 102nd Street and Broadway in Manhattan to build and program robots, design and construct video games and make stop-motion animations. Your child will learn about engineering, coding, and creative thinking. Our work is based on children’s innate passion and curiosity and our workshops allow children to become makers and designers. We run creative after-school programs and train teachers in over 100 schools in the New York City area.
