Class Experience

Halloween special: Don't just put on the COSTUME. Become the CHARACTER. 

In this acting workshop/costume party for ages 5-9 we will explore how to use our movement and voices to transform ourselves into a character. If you have an imaginative child who loves to dress up and play pretend, this workshop will nurture their creative insincts and take them to the next level.

What you'll learn

  • creative movement
  • vocal acting
  • improvising in character

Sample Class Format

  • One hour on Zoom
  • Introductions, acting warm-ups, and theatre games

Other Things To Know

Adult Participation

Please be available to assist your child if you anticipate they may need your support focusing or participating. This class is open to children of all abilities and experience levels.

Cancellation Policy

Class fees are non-refundable but credit can be given for a future class. If you need to cancel please give as much notice as possible so the instructor can plan accordingly.

How To Participate

You will receive an email 30 minutes before class starts with a link to the class and access instructions.

What To Bring

  • Come dressed in your halloween (or other favorite) costume (please nothing violent/scary or culturally offensive)
  • Have some room to safely move around

really low-key, welcoming, inclusive experience!


It's always hard to hear children in a performance, and microphones are awesome when you can get your hands on them :) The week 2 performance was much easier to follow and hear than week 1. It was no problem for me personally but if I had had my daughter's grandparents with me they would have had absolutely no idea what was going on either week - LOL.

Meet your Instructor

Aoife B.

Aoife (OY-fee, she/her/hers) has loved performing every since she saw her first play and desperately wanted to be up there on the stage. She studied dance and theatre in undergrad at Umass Amherst and Antioch College, and earned her MA in Theatre Education at Emerson College. She has taught drama at Boston Children's Theater, Watertown Children's Theatre, and in afterschool programs in Belmont and Westwood public schools. She launched her own company, Stageworthy Drama, in 2019.
