Class Experience

New York Society of Play's Cross-Nation classes are scheduled at flexible times for families in ALL continental time zones in the US (EST, CST, MST, PST). Join us for an exciting opportunity to play with kids across the country!

Class Time Per Time Zone: 12 - 2PM EST 11AM - 1PM CST 10AM - 12PM MST 9AM - 11AM - PST

In this trading card game workshop, students will engage in friendly competition to “Be The Very Best.” Utilizing strategy, creativity, and sportsmanship, players can defeat opponents, collect digital cards, build up dynamic decks, and forge new friendships through action-packed battles every week. Every class, we will distribute FREE digital booster packs to your child – so there’s no need to have their own cards to participate.

This workshop is played via Pokémon Trading Card Game Online, a free software compatible with most PC and Mac devices, as well as iPads and Android tablets.

Parents are expected to install the Pokémon TCG Online software and create an account for their child before the workshop begins. Our team is happy to help you with this process during our business hours between 9am - 6pm EST

Notes

You do NOT need to purchase physical Pokémon card packs outside of this workshop for your child to participate. We distribute free online booster packs for every class your child attends!

How To Participate

You will receive an email 30 minutes before class starts with a link to the class and access instructions.

Loved:

The instructor kept the students engaged using creative activities for the students and explained tasks and expectations thoroughly.

Improvements:

Probably promotion of the program. This was an opportunity that children would really enjoy and appreciate. I felt not many children knew about this.

Loved:

I loved how engaged the kids were and how excited and how much laughter and happy screaming my daughter did. She was so excited to share all her exploits after class.

Not much!

Loved:

Our 10 year old son at first said he didn't like Dungeons and Dragons, but I suggested he try it out. AND of course, he loved it! He said the best thing about the class was "defeating the wizard."

“It was really fun, I loved it. I loved the mods. Elizabeth is my favorite teacher. I loved that it was like D&D Minecraft and I got invited to it.”

If there was more classes. And there weren’t any dungeons.

I have been a teacher for more than 7 years – so working with kids is a passion of mine. I have been playing D&D for more than 6 years and have been a DM for more than 4. In total, I have been playing Pokémon for almost 20 years. I love being around kids. It’s never boring, they never fail to surprise you, and seeing a kid have an ‘ah-ha’ moment is one of the most satisfying experiences imaginable. In my free time, I enjoy gaming, reading, and spending time with friends.
