Then join the STEM Camp - Fun Code & Create 1 Beginners programming course! CODERISE will run an online programming course during the Summer holidays for anyone who wants to learn how your favorite games are made. During the course, we will start applying basic concepts of programming, and you will learn how to develop and design games. Our trainers are experts in programming, building games, and teaching young people, so you learn from the best. They are school teachers or have worked as teachers at our Code Camps. They explain the basic programming concepts and how you can apply them in your own games. You build well-known existing games (think of Pong, Platformer, Frogger, and Space Shooter). The workshops are fun, educational, and practical!

Who can participate?
This course is suitable for anyone aged 10-13 who wants to learn how to design and develop a game. Are you a little older or younger? Please contact us at sandra@coderise.co or 347-863-9700 to see if the course matches your experience.
The course is suitable for beginners with no experience, but also offers a challenge if you do have some experience. For example, if you have already gained some experience in Scratch, or have participated in other coding camps, then this course is also suitable for you! When registering, we will ask you a number of questions about your prior knowledge, to get a good idea of ​​the levels in the group. And after the course?
After the course, you go 'home' with your own designed game. You are able to design your own games. You can think about goals, design, interaction and user experience in your game, among other things. Furthermore, you will of course also receive a certificate and parents will receive a report. If you want to continue learning programming, after the course you will be ready to continue with a textual programming language such as Javascript or Python.

A demo event for friends and family will take place during the last 30 min of the last class.

Sample Class Format

The course takes place online in Zoom. The trainers give interactive workshops. With the help of instructional videos and guidance from the trainers, you will then start programming games in smaller, breakout rooms. In addition, we start every week with an energizer, to get to know each other better. And of course, we take a break in between. On the last day of the course, there will be an online demo that you can invite family or friends, so they can see online what we did during the course! Our trainers are experts in programming, game building, and teaching young people, so you'll learn from the best. The workshops are fun, educational, and practical!

Cancellation Policy

Classes are non-refundable after the first session. There are no make up classes. Refunds can be done 2 weeks prior to the start of the class.
