Class Experience

This is a survey theory course that will bridge the gap between Basic and Advanced Music Theory for Singers. Starting with a one week review of the final subject in Basic Theory we take a more in depth look at all the basics learned in the previous course. Diving deeper into the more complicated aspects of Rhythm, Harmony, and Solfeggio/Ear Training. Classes will be structured in two parts, beginning with individual/group sight singing each class will apply practical skills we learned in the previous week's lecture, and finish with a lecture on the new theory subject. This class is open to any student that has already completed the Basic Music Theory for Singers course, or who has tested into Intermediate after completing the placement test created by the instructor Patrick McGill. This class will build upon the foundation we created in Basic music theory, while having a much stronger emphasis on Solfeggio/Ear training now that the students are more confident musicians. This class is perfect for anyone looking to form a strong foundation in theory, review the basics/refresh old knowledge, and prepare for an AP Music Theory class.

Meets: 1/27, 2/3, 2/10, 2/17, 2/24, 3/3, 3/10, 3/17, 3/24, 3/31 — 6:45-8:15pm

I have never seen my girls so excited. They really enjoyed going to Crystal theater.

Due to me being a busy mom and having three children I wish the teachers would tell the kids to tell their parents to check emails would help the parents be on track with what is going on. Or maybe give the kids a slip as a reminder. I guess the communication.

The class got kids interacting and building confidence. Christina was kind and welcome to suggestions. This was our first experience with Crystal Theatre and we loved it! A small, but much appreciated thing was that they brought the students outside at the end of each class so parents didn't have to get out of the car with other little ones.
