Do you love exploring the science of how things are made?
Join us this summer for our Maker STEAM Academy SUMMER CAMP. Put your inventor hats on join us for a week of building, sewing and making some really awesome STEAM related projects and experiments
This is a well-rounded hands-ons camp for kids to explore new mediums, build new skills and expand their creative imagination through curiosity and play.
Choose from our single camps or full week themes.
We will be offering half-day sessions for the start of summer break starting June 8th
Single Day Session:
6/8, 6/9, 6/15, 6/16
- Morning session 9:00-12:00
- Afternoon session: 12:00- 3:00
Join us for all 2 weeks of camp to experience the fun with new friends! With Three unique creative tracks for kids to explore fun hands-on STEM activities, storytelling and making things all summer long.
Week Long Sessions:
6/19- 6/23: Great Wilderness STEM Adveture
Calling all young adventurers! Get ready to explore the animal kingdom like never before in our Animals, Habitats, and Adventure Stories camp. In this exciting camp, kids will immerse themselves in the world of STEM exploration as they learn about different habitats and animals through various crafts and projects.
We will embark on a new journey into different animal habitats, discovering new species, climates, terrains, and plants. Through open-ended artful play and guided crafting sessions, kids will have the opportunity to experiment with different mediums such as painting, sculpting, and mixed media to create their own unique animal habitats and artwork.
6/26-6/30: Multi-Media Art Camp
Grab your makers, paint brushes, and lets get ready to explore the contemporary art process. Kids will explore a wide range of different artistic mediums, including drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. In addition camp will focus on installation art, culminating in a gallery exhibition at the end of the camp for kids to share their masterpieces with friends and family. We will have the opportunity to explore contemporary art through a lens of Pop Art, abstract and surrealism, drawing inspiration from prominent artists such as Picasso, Jean Michel, Basquiat, Judy Chicago, Salvador Dali, Nick Cave, and Joan Mitchell.
7/10 - 7/14: Stop-Motion Mixed Media Camp
Ready, Set, Action! Bring your imagination to life in our Mixed-Media Stop Motion Makerz camp. This program exposes kids to the art of storytelling through hands-on crafting, imaginative play, and building with a wide range of mediums such as clay, sewing, cardboard, and other textured items.
8/7-8/11: Magic, Mysteries and Science
Join us on a whimsical adventure that blends the enchanting world of magic with the wonders of science! Prepare to be spellbound as we unlock the secrets of the universe in the most delightful way.
In this captivating camp, you'll embark on a thrilling journey where potions bubble, and the laws of physics take on a magical twist. Join our team of mischievous wizards and brilliant scientists as they guide you through a realm where curiosity and wonder reign supreme. Discover the science behind illusions and unravel the mysteries of optical tricks. With a sprinkle of magic and a dash of science, you'll become a master of awe-inspiring tricks that will leave your friends and family mesmerized.
8/14-8/18: Unleash Your Inner Inventor!
Welcome to 'Unleash Your Inner Inventor' - the ultimate playground for your imagination! Get ready to embark on an exciting journey where creativity knows no bounds. Whether you're a budding inventor or simply curious about tinkering with ideas, this program is designed to bring out the inner genius in you.
Join us in a world of endless possibilities, where everyday objects transform into extraordinary inventions. Guided by our quirky and enthusiastic mentors, you'll learn the art of brainstorming, problem-solving, and bringing your wildest ideas to life.

Sample Class Format
Morning (9:00-11:30)
- Student and teacher introductions, go over expectations and projects for the day
- Large project #1, broken up with a snack break
- Pre-lunch cleanup
Lunch at the playground! (11:30-12:30)
Afternoon (12:30-3:00)
- Large project #2
- Quick cleanup
- Small project
- Large project #3
- End of day cleanup
This itinerary is subject to small changes depending on the size of the projects we run each day. We aim for all camp days to include a minimum of 4 projects plus 1 hour of outdoor time to keep our students engaged mentally, physically, and creatively!
Drop off/pick-up: Feel free to call or text 415-855-1073 if you can not find parking nearby and we'll be happy to walk kids out to the car!
Other Things To Know


All bookings are non-refundable, but we are happy to help to move you into another class or camp. We can also issue a gift card in the amount of your payment.
What To Bring
- Please pack lunch and a snack, as well as relevant outdoor gear for lunchtime (jackets, hats, sunscreen).
In the case of rain, we will break into groups and eat lunch inside. Depending on the severity of the rain we may still take a walk for some outdoor time, so please bring weather appropriate clothing. If we can't go outside at all, we'll play games and do stretching and movement activities.
- If your child is staying for aftercare, we recommend packing an additional snack.

Creative and fun projects with a wide variety of materials to work with. Great balance between curated and self-directed projects, giving kids flexibility to explore and express themselves through art/making. Bonus: a daily walk and lunch at the park!

My child had a fabulous time at the drawing and painting class! They came home inspired to create, and they have already asked me when they can go back. So glad to have Maker Studio Kids in the neighborhood.
Improvements:
Please continue to reach out to families and publicize your classes! Weekday class times are a bit tough with school times. Maybe consider more weekend classes?

The instructor was really fun, nice, and easy to talk to during the camp. Instructions were easy to follow. My daughter thought that the final project was really cool.
Improvements:
Sewing project was a little difficult sewing by hand because it was hard to push the needle through the "leather". But after camp we finished with a sewing machine.
