Class Experience

Did you know that many people use building in Minecraft as a mindfulness practice?

In this camp, we’ll explore the mindful side of Minecraft by designing and building spaces, places, and practices that can help us relax and recharge.

We'll start the week by learning how architects and designers intentionally create spaces, places, and experiences that welcome us and help us decompress. We’ll also talk about the importance of designing to include everyone.

Then, we’ll start designing our and building a Minecraft community that fosters well-being and is rooted in the principles of spatial justice. From meditation centers to zen gardens, areas for forest bathing to spas, and art parks to urban hiking trails, we’ll decide how we want to bring mindfulness and well-being to the world we’re creating.

Throughout the week, we’ll share and socialize, participate in Minecraft hikes and mountain meditations while exploring innovative ways to build a creative, collaborative community using technology.

Campers will:

Learn about Design and Design Thinking
Learn about craftivism and youth activism
Learn about regenerative and reconciliatory design
Learn to use Minecraft as a CAD tool
Learn and practice coding in Minecraft
