Lauren K.

Lauren is our owner and director. She has extensive dance and business experience, and took over Music in Motion after her mother, Darlene retired as the owner! Read all about her on our website.

Auriel M.

Auriel’s love of dance began in 2000 at the prestigious Encore Theatrical Arts Project in Fairfax, Virginia, where she performed at Wolf Trap, the Fairfax County Fair and competed in many dance competitions with New York Dance Alliance. Auriel attended Chantilly High School, in Chantilly, Virginia, where she was a member of the Thespian Honor Society. Read more about Auriel on our website!

Veronica H.

Veronica started dance at the age of 10, when her family settled in the VB area. She trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary, and tap. Veronica was taught by teachers Lisa Longworth, Sheena Jeffers, Joppa Whitehead, Kim Lavyer, Mariah Lopez, Gabe Hyman, Janice Rosario and many more. Her main focus became ballet and modern/contemporary. Veronica is currently training to perform a contemporary piece in February for Raw Artists of Virginia. Read more about her on our website!

Tianna R.

Tianna started dancing at the age of 12 as a liturgical dancer at Calvary Revival Church in Norfolk, Virginia. As she grew into the dance ministry she wanted to pursue dance on a more professional level and expand her knowledge and technique. In 2019, Tianna furthered her dance journey at Old Dominion University as a dance major. She started her training there in modern, jazz, and ballet technique which then led to more exposure in hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, and tap. As Tianna developed he

Jay D.

With over 30 years of dance experience, Jamey Dilley has traveled the world as a professional dancer and choreographer. He studied dance at Virginia Intermont College on a full scholarship and trained at Broadway Dance Center, Nevada Ballet and Tampa Ballet. Some of Jay’s extensive performing credits include his role in the original cast of the Broadway hit “Mamma Mia” in Las Vegas. Read more about Jay on our website!

Jessica W.

Jessica is a MIM alum, having trained here as a student and a company member. Jessica currently choreographs for the Music In Motion Dance Company and teaches Ballet 1, Tap/Tumble, Ballet/Tap/Tumble, Hip-Hop 1 and Modern 1/2. She is proficient in all styles of dance including Jazz, ballet, tap, modern and musical theater. She is beloved by her students as a kind, technical and compassionate, yet firm educator. Jessica currently is a full time employee of the VAB City Public Schools.

Jalyn L.

Jalyn Lasala is currently the hip hop dance instructor at Music in Motion Dance Studio and Moonlight Dance Studio. She is currently apart of CREWcial Dance Crew that is based in the Virginia Beach area. Through CREWcial, Jalyn has performed and competed in many shows along the DMV area. Being the current Executive Director of the crew, she strives to be a better leader, teacher and student while hoping to inspire along the way!

Skylar S.

Miss Skylar started dancing when she was three years old at a dance studio in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She mainly studied at Wilkins School of Dance where she trained in a variety of genres such a jazz, ballet, tap, pointe, hip-hop, and lyrical. Throughout her years of dancing, she eventually joined the company at her studio and started competing in competitions around Virginia. Lily Torbert Winton is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. She moved up to Virginia Beach with her husband who is stationed here with the military. She has two undergraduate degrees: Bachelors of Science in Biology and Bachelors of Arts in Spanish. At the age of two, Lily began her dance journey at Paddy Danos School of Dance. At age sixteen, she completed a vigorous 200 hour dance teacher certification program. Lily has now been teaching dance for the last eight years to hundreds of student
