This engaging class will take you through different cultures exploring unique art making techniques, and history of art in traditional cultures.
Artists will be applying this new knowledge to their creative process exploring different materials and becoming familiar with unique ways of approaching the creative process of art making.
In the fall semester, artists will explore traditional art making from India (batik mandala cloth), Japanese cherry blossom scrolls, Eastern European cornhusk dolls and traditional Incan masks (tooling foil).
Your artist will walk away with a new found appreciation of traditional art making, show an understanding and awareness of different cultures, and demonstrate craftsmanship in unique art making techniques.
Please have your child bring their own mask to each class and remind them to wash hands before entering the class. Your child should wear mess friendly clothing and shoes to avoid any damage to their favorite pieces. We provide aprons.
