This after-school course will cover all the core concepts and computer science fundamentals. Students will learn the basics of computer science and internet safety. We will start with a step-by-step tutorial to construct tech-garments, including explanation of common open-source hardware used, integration with soft materials and programming of microcontrollers. At the end of the course, students will make a wearable patch and possibly scale up to a full tech-embedded garment. This elective is built for learner progress and has elements that are approachable for beginners yet sophisticated enough for seasoned programmers. There will also be an independent and collaborative exploration that goes beyond coding that nurtures imaginations and cognitive skills.

(Classes are filled on a first come, first-served basis and are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollments are not met. If a class does not meet its minimum enrollment and is cancelled, families will be notified and reimbursed for the class.)

Cancellation Policy: Families who enroll and then cancel after the first class will be charged a cancellation fee of $50. No refunds will be given after the second class. Full payment is required no matter how many classes attended. **Class fee cannot be prorated, and makeup classes not offered for student absences.

Refunds: Please make your selections carefully. You will be refunded through Park Day's FACTS system, and you may not receive the entire amount back. And you will not receive your refund until September.
