Class Experience

June Late Registration Closes:  6/13/2022 at midnight EST

School of Magic Arts is seeking experts in the field of North American monster identification and cataloging.  These special investigators will track and observe magical creatures from all corners of the United States, from the snowy mountains to the arid deserts. Apply now for summer positions!

In this summer camp from School of Magic Arts, campers will band together to catalog silly, scary, unique monsters and chase them across the map!  They’ll need to use their newfound skills to catch these magical creatures, including vanishing, appearing, switching, and restoring.

They will also work on storytelling skills to bring their monsters to life, construct at least one prop a day to use in performance, and have the opportunity to be in an end-of-camp magic show!

This is a great camp for students just beginning magic and also those who have joined us for SOMA camps in the past.

All essential materials needed are included in the camp fee, and will be sent straight to your door! Materials will be sent to you to the address provided upon registration. If you do not receive your materials prior to the first day of camp, please reach out to us.

Meet your Instructors

Annie M.

Annie Montone is one of the co-founders of the School of Magic Arts.  She is a professional magician, theater critic, educator, and playwright who has been working in the Baltimore area for over fifteen years. Annie specializes in mentalism, a branch of magic where the magician appears to demonstrate highly developed mental or intuitive abilities. Her favorite cat is named Ghost.

Brian K.

Brian Kehoe is one of the co-founders of the School of Magic Arts. He is a teacher, actor, sound designer, and graphic designer. Brian has been performing stage magic since the age of seven and has been acting since he was in his teens, he loves combining theater and magic.  When he's not performing or teaching magic, he loves to cook for his friends and family.  His favorite cat is named Willow.

Jc P.

JC Payne, a Maryland transplant, is delighted to be joining the School of Magic Arts team! He has loved the art of illusions his whole life long (BIG David Blaine & Shin Lim fan). Before he became a magician, he was (and still is) a classically trained actor. His favorite Shakespearean show he’s done so far was a hip-hop infused production of Much Ado About Nothing with Fools and Madmen, and he highly recommends checking their work out.
