Description
This course is ideal for advanced and/or fluent French speakers growing up in Brooklyn. The objective for this course is to get kids excited about thinking, talking and writing persuasively in French. Using current events that are relevant to their lives as jumping-off points for class discussions and debates, students will not only learn to use more sophisticated sentence structures, advanced grammar and idiomatic expressions in lively debates, but they will also explore the importance of differentiating register (levels of formality) in the French language and culture. Above all, we hope to encourage student engagement with current events as well as consideration of the multiple perspectives of young people from around the world.
