Description
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of directing for the theatre, including how to read a scene for the “givens,” how to find actions that will carry characters forward through needs and wants, how to collaboratively guide actors in character and blocking, and they will explore how small choices can make big impacts on the story that is “read” by the audience. This class is perfect both for those without any directing experience, and those with minimal directing experience. Students will also have fun being actors for each others’ scenes. Learning how a director approaches theatrical creation is beneficial no matter what parts of the performing arts experience a student is primarily interested in. Join us for this fun new class taught by PAA’s Resident Production Manager & Technical Director Adam Lillibridge, who is an experienced actor and director in addition to his theatrical tech skills!
