Meet your Instructor

Amy G.

My name is Amy Gwartney, and I am an artist and teacher who works with natural dyes for fabric and watercolor based in Columbia Falls, MT. My love for natural dyeing started in 2017 when I first took a class in Portland, Oregon. I was instantly hooked by the vibrant colors and fascinating process that comes from using natural materials like plants and flowers. I spend 2019-2022 at an artist residency in Eugene, Oregon, playing and evolving my processes with natural dyes.
