For our students with IDD or others who like to pivot or have difficulty holding small tools, we have a party of accessible projects, durable materials, and "yes-and" teaching.
Students can try new mediums and processes, start over as much as they like, change their mind, change the medium, etc. Our teacher will go with the flow and encourage exploration and celebrate exciting discoveries. $400 minimum $35/student for first 10, $25 for students after.
Three of our art stations:
Acrylic Paint
Identify favorite colors, color mix on the palette, add paint to paper in piles, pull paint across paper with an easy-to-hold rubber rib tool. Gorgeous effect. If additional steps are desireable, add pen and ink to create characters, landscapes, or enchanting lines. Or tear the paper into a landscape and glue onto new paper.
Watercolor Puddles
Keep colors separate or let them blend in a beautiful spectrum. Add pre-cut out eyes and colored pencil to create characters. Or add pen and ink.
Acrylic Printing
Use a roller to apply paint across palette paper, draw into the paint with a q-tip,
push new paper into the paint, peel to reveal an opposite print, drawn in white
If you bring blank t-shirts we can also splash paints and dyes onto shirts, etc.
