The Artist Outpost

Starting at $400

Youth Pottery Party

We love hosting parties at The Artist Outpost! Specify if you want a wheel-only party ($75/ea), hand building only ($75/ea), or both ($85/ea).
>>>The hand building project can be inspired by your child’s interests, whether animals, flowers, beaches, famous works, or ceramics. We can accommodate the most people with this option. $75/each.
>>>Throwing on the wheel is capped at about 8 students. Throwing is exciting and sometimes rewarding. If wheel-only, we practice centering as well as throwing. $75/each
>>>Parties with both wheel and hand building is capped at about 12. We only throw and don't have time to center. $85/each.
Students pick a favorite glaze color. Pieces are bisque fired, glazed, and glaze fired, before they are ready for pick up in 6-8 weeks.

Policy

Once we've agreed on your date and time, you'll receive a request for a 50% nonrefundable deposit to hold your date and time, which goes toward your party total.

3 hour time slot includes 2 to 2.5 hours of teaching and an optional 30 minutes for food (as a break or at the end of class) though after clay, most eat elsewhere.

Although not required, tips are appreciated by your hard working, dedicated, and talented teachers.

Hope to see you in the studio soon!

Caregivers, we love you so much, but please don't stay for the party. Young artists tend to be more focused on the teacher and project if their grown ups are not in the room. We have a sunny sidewalk you can bring a chair out to or visit Voltaire Beach House is next door for some much deserved refreshments.

Disclaimer: While we have an excellent track record for pieces surviving the drying process and kiln fires, not all pieces do. Clay integrity must be maintained and "scratching and attaching" must be done correctly. As we say, the kiln giveth and the kiln taketh away. This is part of the authentic experience of pottery for professionals and novices alike.
