This course is for students who want to learn traditional drawing principles to become better artists. We will break drawing down to the core principles and learn to produce art that is both aesthetically pleasing and observationally correct. Students will learn the mediums of graphite, charcoal, and ink. Projects and skills include still life and observation drawing, drawing from a reference photo, composition, and rendering. Properties of line and value will be studied. Students will also learn how to constructively critique their own work and the work of others.
