Curious about clay? Ceramics 1 at The Arts Creative is the perfect place to start your journey! This four-week beginner course introduces you to both wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques, giving you a well-rounded foundation in working with clay.

Each week, you’ll spend three hours on Mondays in guided instruction—alternating between learning the pottery wheel and hand building methods like pinch, slab, and coil. Plus, you'll get one additional self-directed studio day during the week to practice during studio member hours (listed on the website).

To participate, you’ll purchase a 25 lb bag of clay for $30 (available at the studio). Glazing takes place during the final week, and glazing fees are based on the size and number of pieces you finish.
