Class Experience

Think Breakfast Club only no one’s in trouble. Send the kids to the shop for a whole Saturday of crafty goodness. Our kids have worked so hard at school and let’s face it, things have been weird. They deserve some time to let their creativity flow. It’s good for their mental health! You deserve some time to yourself. Leave the kiddos with us and you go home and binge-watch Netflix, snuggle your sweetie, take a hike, catch up on work, go to the grocery store, whatever. The day is your oyster. Each Saturday school session will focus on one DIY project. Mid-day, we’ll pause our maker time, have a picnic, and spend some time playing outside. We’ll send them back to you happy, refreshed, and the good kind of tired.

  • Register by the day.
  • Heads up, we often use low-temp hot glue, real tools, and sharp scissors. Safety checks and monitoring are in full effect.
  • Want to plan a private day out for your crew? Get in touch.

THEMES:

  • SOLD OUT December 18th: Scrapwood Winter. We’ll build miniature winter scenes using all sorts of scrap wood. Think snowmen, reindeer, pine trees, maybe even a snow village.
  • Jan 22nd: Print & Play: We’ll explore a variety of printmaking techniques like block printing, printing with found objects, and more while we design, print, and stitch our own textile pillows.
  • Feb 5th: Cardboard Castles: Makers will start with pre-cut cardboard castle pieces then assemble, paint, and decorate. In the afternoon, makers will be able to create their own peg doll characters, furniture, and more.
  • Fe 19th: Mouse Trap: This is a shop favorite! Based on the beloved board game, makers will design and build moving contraptions to catch a pretend mouse. Think Rube Goldberg machines and STEM fun.
  • March 5th: Magic Tree House: Our Magic Tree House day is back! Makers will design and build their own tabletop tree house using sticks, wood, and popsicle sticks. They can then add details like a rope ladder, swing, and maybe even a peg doll buddy or two.
  • March 19th: Build and Bloom: It’s the end of winter and spring is just a day away. Let’s celebrate! We’ll sand, glue, and hammer together portable cedar planter boxes, then paint and plant our own herb or flower garden seeds.

Minimum participation: 5 kids. The workshop series may be canceled if we do not make our minimum sign-ups 7 days in advance of the start date.
