Think Breakfast Club only no one’s in trouble. Send the kids to the shop for a whole Saturday of crafty goodness. Our kids have worked so hard at school and let’s face it, things have been weird. They deserve some time to let their creativity flow. It’s good for their mental health! You deserve some time to yourself. Leave the kiddos with us and you go home and binge-watch Netflix, snuggle your sweetie, take a hike, catch up on work, go to the grocery store, whatever. The day is your oyster. Each Saturday school session will focus on one DIY project. Mid-day, we’ll pause our maker time, have a picnic, and spend some time playing outside. We’ll send them back to you happy, refreshed, and the good kind of tired.
THEMES:
April 2nd
Gnome Homes: Even our littlest imaginary friends need a place to call home. In this workshop, makers will assemble a round cardboard gnome home or fairy house then decorate using natural materials like stones, sticks, bark, and moss. We’ll bring it all together with hand-painted cork toadstools and peg doll gnomes with wool beards.
April 16th
Pinball Machines: We’ll spend the day designing and constructing tabletop pinball machines with real working parts.
April 30th
Make it For Mom: Our annual Make it for Mom workshop is back in Saturday School form. Makers will spend the day creating a bath & body spa kit with sugar scrubs, bath salts, handmade soaps & a fragranced candle. This is the perfect opportunity to shower the hardworking mama in your life with a little love (and kid-free time).
May 14th
Super Robots: If you know us, you know we love a good scrapwood robot. We’ll supersize our robots and use all sorts of loose parts, metal, and wood scrap to design and build the ultimate robo-buddy with moving parts and super robo-skills (still no bigger than a bread box).
Minimum participation: 5 kids. The workshop series may be canceled if we do not make our minimum sign-ups 7 days in advance of the start date.
