The curriculum is a once-a-week program to address e-learning/homework help, arts enrichment, socialization, and give students the tools the need to succeed in unusual times.
Improv: Our own program which teaches life-skills through the performing arts and theater games, (cooperation, collaboration, confidence and communication). Adjusted focus on getting kids comfortable making themselves heard and understand through masks, to serve them well when they return to school buildings and also in the community at large, and also to help them find other social cues to understand not just the content, but the intent, of people who are speaking with them through masks. We believe that addressing these matters in the spirit of play will make them less intimidating. We know they’ve been missing the opportunity for more socialization with their peers.
E/learning Homework Help: . Owner Kim Hiller has a Masters in Education and has served as a preschool, grade school, and high school teacher, and even a corporate trainer, in addition to 9 years running The Laughing Academy as an after school enrichment, so while not a subject matter expert, she’s an education expert with a great faculty of teachers and teaching assistants with similar backgrounds. We have plenty of room for a child to step out for some private space to take a Zoom meeting when necessary.
Arts/Crafts: We will take time for some creative visual expression each session to do an art or craft project, something hands-on.
Movement: We have mini trampolines, a creative moment teachers, we do hip hop, yoga and other movement activities on different days, all activities described allow for plenty of proper social distancing in our 3,356 square foot studio.
One of our primary objectives is to help kids succeed in a changing world.
