Class Experience

The NOLA Project Summer Intensive is a fun, fast-paced, and ensemble-focused theatre program for students ages 11-16. In three short weeks, we read, cast, rehearse, build, and put on a professional-level production that is open to the public. Students of varying ages and skill levels learn how to work together as an ensemble to support each other, expand imaginations, learn voice and speech skills, and present themselves with confidence in front of a live audience. They will be asked to jump right in, take risks, and be fearless as artists. We keep our numbers intentionally small to ensure that the student-to-faculty ratio is ideal and mirrors that of a professional production. So space is limited!

This year we will be producing the play POWER LINE:  THE STORY OF ME, MARIO, AND YOUR MOM by Don Zolidis. Read more about the play.

Notes

We will be in touch with all registered students by May 15th with a script and additional information you will need for the program.

Class Requirements

  • Students should have a high interest in theatre.
  • We work with all ranges of experience, but ask that every student commit to working together as an ensemble.
  • No audition is required.
  • Students will be asked to write down their stage directions and memorize lines.
  • Students must arrive on time to all rehearsals unless a parent has a valid excuse and submits to us in advance.
  • We have a zero-bullying policy and will remove any student who verbally or physically harms another student or faculty member. Kindness is key!
