We are very excited to introduce to you a new member of The Renaissance Child's team, Rebecca Sagoskin Stein. Rebecca will be teaching this 3-week Infant Massage course and hopefully other parenting workshops in the future. Rebecca is a certified Infant Massage Instructor, Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, MPA, DONA trained labor doula. She teaches different classes for parents at the Englewood, Mount Sinai West Hospitals, and as well as privately.
Over the course, parents/caregivers will master many different techniques to help their babies with digestive discomforts, teething pain, muscle hypertonia, and much more. In addition, caregivers will take home handouts with all the information given during the course and massage oils.
Infant massage has tremendous benefits for both babies and their caregivers.
The massage helps stimulate many bodily systems such as the circulatory, digestive, hormonal, immune, respiratory, lymphatic and vestibular systems. It also stimulates language development, muscle tone, growth, sensory integration, and body awareness.
Massage also helps babies relax by reducing the levels of stress hormones while increasing the relaxing and anti-stress hormones.
Common physical discomforts that many babies experience such as gas, colic, constipation, growing pains, and congestion can be relieved by massage as well.
Finally, massage promotes bonding between baby and whoever is giving the massage by promoting secure attachment, non-verbal communication, one-on-one quality time, undivided attention and nurturing touch.
We apologize for the inconvenience but we, unfortunately, don’t have a stroller parking at the studio. Please bring your babies in car seats, slings or small portable strollers.
