In this class students will explore printmaking without a press! We will explore both intaglio and relief printmaking processes. Students will create intricate plexiglass etchings, textured-collaged collagraphs inspired by the art of Wangechi Mutu, and poster-sized lino-cuts! Each student will leave the class with an understanding of multiple printmaking techniques, knowledge of awesome contemporary print artists, as well as multiple pieces of printed artwork! This class is open both to young artists who have never even heard of printmaking and to practiced printmakers! No matter what your previous experience, students will be encouraged to experiment and challenge themselves in this exciting medium!
