Description
Vibe's painting classes include using our Cyan-Magenta-Yellow color theory for primary colors and color mixing. Each quarter looks at a variety of artists so students will lean art history while also working on their own original processed based projects.
Spring 2019 // Students will use acrylic, tempera and watercolor to create their own paintings inspired by nature. The artwork of Georgia O'Keeffe, Henri Rousseau, and Vincent Van Gogh will be introduced to students.
Winter Quarter : During this session, students will be introduced to the artwork of Rex Ray and Gustav Klimt. Students will create their own art history inspired designs and paintings. The final project will be creating animal portraits using watercolor.
Cost: $13/class when registering for the entire session
Cost: $15/class for drop-in day of class

• When packing snacks for your child after school, please note that the Vibe Studio is a NUT FREE space for the safety of some of our artists who have severe allergies. Thank you for understanding.
*Extended Art options: This includes Vibe staff picking up students from Atkinson Elementary at 3 p.m. where students will walk over the studio, have time for a snack before class. From 4:30-5 p.m. students can sketch, work on their songs, or do homework until parents/guardians pick them up at 5 p.m. 3-3:30 extended art + pick up from Atkinson = $4/class. Extended art until 5 p.m. = $8/class.
* If you are wanting your child to be picked up from Atkinson, please choose the Atkinson PickUp option rather than the Early Drop off option.
*48-hour notice is required when signing up for a Drop In class when you are also requesting pick up from Atkinson. If you register for a class within that 48-hour window, please also email studio@vibepdx.org to ensure confirmation of the class and Atkinson pick up option.
• Late policy: For every 15 minutes that a child is waiting after the end of class/extended art, there will be a $5 late charge. Thank you for respecting the time of our teaching artists.
